In 1993, 47 students from Australia and 10 other countries formed ICHM's first intake. Today, ICHM boasts record enrolment levels. Students have come from more than 70 countries, and we now have graduates on all parts of the globe enjoying successful careers.
We are proud of our achievements with students, who while in Adelaide, have access to the best hospitality training facilities in Australia from a multi-award winning school. Every year we attract a number of sons and daughters of hoteliers from around the world. That has to say something for the recognition ICHM enjoys within the industry!
Based on our Swiss Hotel Association heritage, ICHM maintains strong industry links that are vital for maintaining our high standards and relevance. ICHM emphasises industry cooperative training, with industry placement (internship) taking up to 50% of the total program. Guest lectures by international industry leaders and site inspections also form part of the course.
All teaching staff have extensive industry experience and undertake ongoing professional development, with several lecturers visiting their industry counterparts around the world each year. It is this commitment to the development of industry competence that earns ICHM, its students and graduates, the credibility and respect demanded of hospitality professionals and future leaders of the industry.
